About Us

We are a group of Park City parents who started where many of you have—enrolling our kids in Rec programs during the preschool and kindergarten years. As our kids’ interest in sports grew, we entered the world of club sports. They made the team—how exciting! But what we didn’t realize was that the year-round commitment would result in specialization, missed school for out-of-state tournaments, and a significant financial burden.

Family dinners became a distant memory, and weekends disappeared into a whirlwind of dividing and conquering, with siblings shuttled to different parts of the state—or even the country. It felt like everything revolved around sports, and yet, something wasn’t adding up.

We knew there had to be a better way. Diving into the research and guidance from child development and sports performance specialists, we realized we weren’t alone. These "pay-to-play" options had become the only choice for kids who wanted to progress to an elite level, leaving families stretched thin and burned out. Parents, driven by fear of missing opportunities for their children, felt trapped into sacrificing nights, weekends, and sometimes even family harmony for a dream that didn’t feel right.

City League gives kids the chance to develop into high-level multi-sport athletes while preserving the family life that makes Park City special. This is the same model that’s bred Olympians in our town. No more stress about picking a single sport your child might quit in middle school. No more juggling hectic schedules. No more sacrificing family time to make practices work. The best athletes—like LeBron James, Patrick Mahomes, and Mia Hamm—were all multi-sport athletes. City League helps kids build skills, passion, and versatility for whatever path they choose.

At City League, we believe in giving our children every opportunity to succeed in sports without sacrificing what matters most: family time, balance, and joy of sport. We’ve created a model that nurtures both athletic growth and family connection. With City League, you can have it all—a competitive, high-quality sports experience that doesn’t cost you everything.

To make this vision a reality, we are in the process of establishing City League as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our board and leadership team are entirely volunteer-based, ensuring that 100% of local sponsorships go directly to coaching, uniforms, transportation, and other essential needs for the kids.

We are also looking to partner with local organizations to start with a strong foundation—ensuring access to field space and a large pool of Park City kids ready to participate. By building on existing infrastructure, we can launch City League with a running start and deliver an incredible experience for both kids and families from day one.
